2010 Is Here. Time to Get Serious.

Now that 2010 is here, thought it would be a good time to start sending out updates regarding the campaign. These updates will be somewhat of a journal informing you of what has happened over the past week or two, events I will be involved in as well as soliciting volunteers to assist with phone calls, passing out campaign literature or placing yard signs.

The past week or two has been busy shoring up a campaign fundraiser who lives in the district and more important, believes in the campaign.  Check that one off the list.  Next was finding a company to print yard signs at a good price and could deliver a quick turn-around if needed.  Check two off the list as well.  If anyone would like one of these limited addition signs, set to expire November 4th, 2010 and every two years after, please send me an email with your address or phone number and I’ll deliver the signs myself.  This will allow us a chance to meet and talk about issues on your mind.

Since the campaign started, my goal has been to use this website as a means to bring sensible ideas to the forefront so we begin to start conversations, not just here, but in every district. It is for this reason that I do not give brief “bullet format” statements, but rather clear opinions on what I feel are solutions to our current set of problems.  None of the solutions are quick fixes because we did not get in our current predicament with the 2008 elections.  Liberals and progressives have been slowly moving us in a direction of larger government and less freedom.  When you ask a politician a question, republican or democrat, too often they will gloss over everything to cover their posterior but say nothing.  As for myself, I am not known for my tact, will speak my mind and you have probably noticed, not politically correct.  Political correctness got our solders killed in Fort Hood last year.  These were fathers, mothers, sons and daughters that were home on what should have been a safe environment.  As a veteran, the men and women of the military holds a special place in my heart.  We should also remember the families of our solders, because they are sacrificing as well.  It’s just that we don’t hear about their sacrifices.

I am eager for everyone’s feedback, start commenting Georgia!
