It was pretty obvious standing with the 20,000+ people on the Capital Lawn Saturday that if we cand an eCongress in place this and other unpopular legislation could never come close to becoming law.

As it stands, there are several alarming bills that range from violations of civil liberties to threats against what vitamins we choose to use in our daily diets.

If you’ve got a moment, please go to our site and do one or more of the following:

1) grab a badge/web banner to place on your site
2) invite someone to join our FaceBook
3) contact a candidate about this idea
4) tell your local grass roots group to join us in promoting this idea.
5) call a talk radio station or write a letter to your newspaper about BHTP
6) if you have any suggestions on how to get this out there faster let us know.

I have no doubt things will improve eventually, but it’s merely a question of how much difficulty we’ll all have to go through to get to that point. I think BHTP will serve as a shortcut to a better future.

Want to thank everyone for coming to last weeks Meet & Greet held at the 57th Fighter Group Restaurant. If you have not been to this restaurant, the food is great and it’s worth a visit. Feedback from this event indicated that more meetings need to take place for voters to become informed about the candidates. As a result, I will be attending a town hall meeting this Friday, sponsored by “resistnet,” at the Lilburn Calvin Fitchett Municipal Complex from 7:30pm – 8:30pm. The address is 76 Main Stree, Lilburn, GA., next to the police station. Tell your friends and I look forward to meeting and answering everyones questions.

I apologize for not sending out more frequent updates, but looking at my own habits of viewing email, the candidates that continue to send me updates every week no longer get opened. We are still early in the campaign and as we get closer, I will send out more frequent updates.

Since the last update I attended two days of training sponsored by the “Campaign for Liberty” organization. I had the opportunity to speak with Congressman Ron Paul during one of the social gatherings. It was an honor to meet him and I fully support his amendment to “Audit the FED.” On top of this, it seems every week there is a GOP event to attend – which is great! Attendance at these events has continued to grow and I look forward to meeting more and more of the people that make up the 4th district. One of the more interesting events I attended recently was a luncheon for WWII veterans. I sat beside some truly amazing men who had equally amazing stories to tell. You may remember the movie Matthew McConaugney starred in called “U-571″ which tells the story of the capture of a German submarine and their Enigma cipher machine. It didn’t happen exactly like it did in the movie, but their acts of heroism are every bit as impressive. What was even more impressive is that the U-boat was captured off the coast of Spain and towed across the Atlantic so the Germans would not know it had fallen into enemy control. Engineers rigged the propellers onboard the boat to turn freely and generate power onboard the boat, allowing the spooks (Intelligence personnel) to continue working while the boat was towed. Onboard the three US Navy ships were over 3,000 sailors, soldiers, and marines and not one of them mentioned a word of this until well after the war had ended. These men understood the importance of what they had recovered and how it would help the cause and that leaking this information out would cause the Germans to change their machines and codes. This was a critical point in the war and no one talked. Amazing!

The month of March has several town-halls, luncheons, BBQ’s and GOP events to attend and I look forward to meeting everyone. I will also be adding more text to the “Sensible Ideas” portion of my website. Those items should be added by the end of the week so please take a minute to read them. The most important event to announce is that I will be holding a fundraiser/campaign kickoff next week on Wednesday, March 10th, at the 57th Fighter Group Restaurant (3829 Clairmont Road, Atlanta, GA) near Peachtree-DeKalb Airport (PDK). It will be from 5:30pm to 7:00pm and I’d love for you to stop by. The restaurant is a walk back in time!

Last on the agenda is to remind everyone to continue to call their representatives concerning healthcare and the economy. The administration is going to continue with its push to take over healthcare and everyone needs to stay vigilant on contacting Washington or the administration will pass it in the dead of night. We have also seen this week how the government is hiring almost one million people for the Census Bureau to assist in collecting data. This means almost a million people will come off the unemployment rolls resulting in unemployment numbers dropping. The democrats will tout this as proof their stimulus is working, but when the workers complete the census in six months and are added back to the unemployment rolls, the numbers will go right back up. This is all political posturing to take them past the elections in November. Don’t be fooled by the numbers. Anyone who has driven around the district as I have been doing during the last month can tell you more and more businesses are having to close their doors. Washington promotes tax credits, but what good are tax credits if you have to close your doors before you can take advantage of them? You and I know tax cuts are the answer, even better the Fair Tax.

In closing, I want to thank you for signing up to receive this newsletter and please pass this information on to your friends. We have added the online donations link-up to the website and I invite you donate what you can. I understand the economy has placed a huge burden on everyone’s family, but just as it takes bullets to fight a war, it takes money to run a campaign and I cannot be effective if I do this alone. An early contribution of $10, $20, $50, $100 or more ( maximum is $2,400 in case you were wondering) can be made by clicking the link below. Every bit helps as we work to take back America. Thank you in advance for you encouragement and support in helping me serve the 4th District.

Sincerely,
Larry Gause

I hope you agree and will support my campaign by making a donation today.

Now that 2010 is here, thought it would be a good time to start sending out updates regarding the campaign. These updates will be somewhat of a journal informing you of what has happened over the past week or two, events I will be involved in as well as soliciting volunteers to assist with phone calls, passing out campaign literature or placing yard signs.

The past week or two has been busy shoring up a campaign fundraiser who lives in the district and more important, believes in the campaign. Check that one off the list. Next was finding a company to print yard signs at a good price and could deliver a quick turn-around if needed. Check two off the list as well. If anyone would like one of these limited addition signs, set to expire November 4th, 2010 and every two years after, please send me an email with your address or phone number and I’ll deliver the signs myself. This will allow us a chance to meet and talk about issues on your mind.

Since the campaign started, my goal has been to use this website as a means to bring sensible ideas to the forefront so we begin to start conversations, not just here, but in every district. It is for this reason that I do not give brief “bullet format” statements, but rather clear opinions on what I feel are solutions to our current set of problems. None of the solutions are quick fixes because we did not get in our current predicament with the 2008 elections. Liberals and progressives have been slowly moving us in a direction of larger government and less freedom. When you ask a politician a question, republican or democrat, too often they will gloss over everything to cover their posterior but say nothing. As for myself, I am not known for my tact, will speak my mind and you have probably noticed, not politically correct. Political correctness got our solders killed in Fort Hood last year. These were fathers, mothers, sons and daughters that were home on what should have been a safe environment. As a veteran, the men and women of the military holds a special place in my heart. We should also remember the families of our solders, because they are sacrificing as well. It’s just that we don’t hear about their sacrifices.

I am eager for everyone’s feedback, start commenting Georgia!
